The First Week

Week 1

In the first lesson of our Technical Theatre session we were to review a series of productions, (Diversity, Blue Man Group, Cirque Du Soleil & Bouncers) specifically focusing on the technical aspect of each piece. We had to write down what we identified and then relay it back to Rebecca, such examples of what was found went from:

• Pyrotechnics
• Strobe lighting
• Transitions
• Sound usage
• Screening

After that we discussed as a group as to what we thought of each piece and how it was different to each other. For example a very talked about topic was the fact that "Cirque Du Soleil" used water as a base/stage for all of its works, I found this interesting as it was the only group doing so which added uniqueness to the piece.

Moving on, we spoke about the 65 Units we would be covering in the many days to come and ended the lesson well informed and happy.
